Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.

Osteopaths provide safe, effective treatment and care that aims to promote the health of patients by the use of wide variety of hands-on manual therapy techniques that focus on releasing tension, improving mobility and optimising function, together with useful health advice and exercise, tailored to the needs of the individual from all walks of life.

Sports/Deep Tissue Massage

Sports massage is designed to optimise the performance of athletes and to prevent and treat sports injuries. It is frequently used before, during and after sporting activity. It specifically provides a warm-up to loosen muscles pre-event and alleviates muscle tension and inflammation post-event. It also relieves muscle pain, muscle soreness, increases flexibility and range of motion. Sports massage has a number of benefits such as physical, physiological and psychological.

The techniques used in sports massage can be beneficial for everyone, not just for sports-oriented people. Deep tissue massage specifically focuses on working through the deeper layer of the muscles and the surrounding connective tissue where persistent discomfort can be released. Deep tissue massage is useful to breakdown adhesions build up in the muscles. The pressure starts light and slowly progresses to the deeper layers to a point where it is still tolerable.

Medical Acupuncture/Dry Needling

Medical acupuncture (Dry Needling) is a therapeutic treatment involving the insertion of ultra-fine sterile needles. Sometimes manual or low voltage electrical stimulation is applied to assist the process. This treatment is not the same as traditional Chinese acupuncture which primarily works to stimulate the 'qi' energy flow throughout the body.

Medical acupuncture is mainly used to treat muscle pain and myofascial trigger point pain. The treatment mainly acts by stimulating the nerves in skin and muscle. By doing so, we know that it increases the body’s release of natural painkillers – endorphin and serotonin – in the pain pathways of both the spinal cord and the brain. This modifies the way pain signals are received.

Dry needling is a proven and very effective method of releasing muscle spasms, relieving pain and reducing inflammation. The treatment has been successfully used for headaches, sports injuries, muscle strains and in some cases of arthritic and rheumatic pain.

Pregnancy & Postnatal Massage

Pregnancy is a beautiful and transformative time, but it can also bring along its fair share of discomforts and stresses. We understand the unique needs of expectant and new mothers, which is why we offer specialised prenatal and postnatal massage services tailored to support you through every stage of your motherhood journey.

Pregnancy massage is a safe and effective way to alleviate the aches and pains commonly associated with pregnancy. Our certified pregnancy massage therapists are skilled in providing gentle and nurturing care to expectant mothers, focusing on areas of tension and discomfort such as the lower back, hips, legs, swelling and fatigue, leaving you feeling more relaxed and rejuvenated.

Sleep can be elusive during pregnancy, but regular pregnancy massage can help promote better sleep patterns by reducing stress and anxiety levels. Pregnancy can sometimes lead to poor circulation, but prenatal massage can help stimulate blood flow, reducing swelling and promoting overall wellness for both you and your baby.

Our postnatal massage services are specially designed to help you recover from childbirth and adjust to the physical and emotional changes that come with motherhood. Postnatal massage can aid in the healing process by relieving sore muscles, promoting tissue repair, and restoring your body’s natural balance after childbirth.

Shockwave Therapy

Radial Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive evidence-based medical treatment.

It involves passing low energy pressure waves into damaged tissues to increase blood flow and stimulate repair, whilst reducing pain and allowing your body to restart its own natural healing process.

It has gained popularity for its effectiveness in treating various musculoskeletal conditions.

Exercise Rehab

Exercise rehabilitation, also known as physical therapy, is an essential component of osteopathic care offered by clinics to help patients recover from injuries, reduce pain, and prevent future injuries.

Exercise rehabilitation involves targeted exercises and stretches that help patients strengthen weakened muscles, increase flexibility, and improve overall mobility. It can also help patients manage chronic pain, improve posture, and experience positive mental health outcomes.

The treatment is tailored to each patient's individual needs and goals, and typically includes stretching, strength training, and cardiovascular conditioning, as well as techniques like massage and manual therapy. Overall, exercise rehabilitation is crucial for patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their overall health and well-being.

Kinesiology Taping (K-Tape)

Kinesiology tapping (k-tapping) can be applied to the musculoskeletal system to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and improve range of motion.

By tapping on specific acupressure points, k-tapping can help relax muscles, reduce muscle tension, and improve circulation to the affected area. This can be especially beneficial for individuals with musculoskeletal conditions such as arthritis, tendonitis, or muscle strains.

K-tapping can also be used to address issues related to posture and alignment, helping to improve joint stability and reduce the risk of injury. Overall, k-tapping can be a safe and effective way to manage musculoskeletal pain and improve physical function without relying on medication or invasive procedures.

Dry Cupping Therapy

Sports cupping is a therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create a vacuum, which helps to improve blood flow and promote healing. It also affect the fascia by creating space and releasing tension.

Dry cupping therapy has been used for centuries and is popular among athletes to aid in recovery and injury prevention. Some benefits of sports cupping include reducing muscle soreness and tension, improving range of motion, and increasing circulation. It may also help with conditions such as back pain, neck pain, and headaches.
